Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility based in San Jose, CA. This is a 3-monthopportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!Responsibilities:Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record.Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data.Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice.Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs.Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines.Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by the provider.Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by the provider.Required Qualifications/Skills:High School Diploma or Equivalency. 2-year degree program in Medical Assistance Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current MA Certificate. BLSMinimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population.Ability to follow directions from supervisor and communicate needs effectively. Excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills in settings with seniors, their families, and interdisciplinary team members. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Experience and competency working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Commitment to unlocking the full potential of our most vulnerable seniors.Preferred Skills & Experience: MA experience working in the Home Health/Clinical Setting.
