Atrium Health is seeking a talented Academic OB/GYN Generalist within our nationally renowned academic medical center. Our faculty team currently consists of 4 academic hospitalists and 6 academic generalists who work together to provide coverage of OB and GYN patients alongside resident physicians.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Academic OB/GYN GeneralistWe are recruiting a full-time academic OB/GYN Generalist to join our dynamic team at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, NC. This role offers a comprehensive academic practice that combines patient care, medical education, and research.Key Responsibilities:Inpatient Obstetrics: Supervise residents and medical students in care of patients on Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and OB Triage units Approximately 3,500 deliveries annually including low- and high-risk patient populationsAntepartum patients managed by Maternal Fetal Medicine facultyInpatient Gynecology: Supervise residents and medical students in care of patients on inpatient gynecology service, inpatient/ED consults, scheduled and unscheduled surgeries Provide backup call from home overnight and on weekend as neededOutpatient Clinics: Supervise resident continuity and specialty GYN clinicsIndependently care for general OB and GYN patientsAdditional Academic Responsibilities: Resident and medical student didactic sessionsResident and medical student simulation sessionsOpportunity to mentor resident research projects if desiredDepartmental Highlights:40 board-certified physicians across OB/GYN subspecialties (Academic Specialists, MFM, Gyn Oncology, REI, Urogynecology, MIGS, PAGS)Regional campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine, newly opened in 202525 OB/GYN residents (6 per year, now approved for 7 per year starting with current Intern class)Primary regional referral centerLevel 3 NICU supportQualifications:Medical degree from an accredited medical schoolBoard certification/eligibility in OB/GYNCurrent or recent academic experience strongly preferredBenefitsPaid Time Off programs available for eligible positionsComprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverageRetirement benefits, including 401(k) options with employer contributions and access to financial wellness resourcesFlexible spending accounts for eligible health care and dependent care expensesFamily support benefits, which may include parental leave, adoption assistance, and surrogacy supportEducational assistance and professional development programsPaid medical liability insuranceContinuing Medical Education (CME) allowancesRelocation assistanceAbout Charlotte, North CarolinaCharlotte blends big-city opportunity with small-town charm, offering an ideal mix of professional growth and personal comfort.
