Carpentry Estimator

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, negotiation, and project management. If you have a background in the construction industry and are skilled in estimating, we encourage you to apply for this position.Responsibilities:- Conduct site visits to gather information and inspect construction sites.- Review project blueprints and specifications to determine the materials needed and the cost of labor.- Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects, including labor costs, material costs, and project timelines.- Negotiate with contractors and vendors to secure the best prices for construction materials and labor.- Analyze bids and determine the most cost-effective option for the project.- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.- Utilize construction management software, such as Bluebeam, to create and manage project estimates.- Monitor construction site conditions and make adjustments to the estimate as necessary.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project estimates and expenses.- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.- Ensure compliance with all relevant construction codes and regulations.Experience:- At least 3 years of experience in construction estimating.- Proven experience in negotiating prices and managing construction projects.- Strong understanding of construction estimating software, including Bluebeam.- Familiarity with construction management software and systems.- Experience working on heavy construction projects, such as those that involve heavy machinery or equipment.- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Skills:- Construction estimating skills- Ability to negotiate prices- Knowledge of construction management- Experience with Bluebeam- Familiarity with construction site conditions- HeavyBid experience- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and project management skills- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment- Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsJob Type: Full-timePay: $100,371.00 - $109,562.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k) 5% Match* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Fuel reimbursement* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceCompensation Package:* Bonus opportunitiesSchedule:* 8 hour shiftExperience:* Construction estimating: 3 years (Required)* Project management: 2 years (Required)* Bluebeam: 1 year (Required)Ability to Commute:* Elgin, IL 60123 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Elgin, IL 60123: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
