Job Description:Scroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect.Job Requirements:Position Goals: Performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair and maintain pieces of Taylor Crane & Rigging heavy equipment. The work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge and specific certifications that denote expertise in heavy equipment maintenance.Summary:The employee performs a full range of maintenance, repair and service activities on heavy equipment. The employee uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions without the availability of supervision. Repairs, assemble, install, maintain and dissemble machinery, vehicles and equipment in Taylor Crane & Rigging.Responsibilities:Be able to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Diagnose faults or malfunctions, service and repair various systems that are found on pieces of heavy equipment. Test mechanical products/equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance.Be able to schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment while keeping equipment service records. Perform maintenance and repair on various heavy equipment including but not limited to heavy duty truck and semi tractors, cranes, forklifts, and other vehicles or equipment. This includes routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches.Requirements & Skills:Class A CDL with no violations; or valid driver's license with no suspensionsCandidates must have at least 3+ years of mechanic experience with heavy equipment.Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines.Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of motorized vehicles and equipment.Skill in the use of mechanized tools, jacks, and hoists.Skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions using manuals and schematics.AFC certification preferredAbility to track daily work so that the shop manager can effectively enter data into maintenance software.Working Conditions:Working conditions vary day by day and require both indoor and outdoor activities. Heavy Equipment Mechanics must handle oil, grease, sharp pieces of metal, and heavy objects. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
