OverviewServe as the technical subject matter expert for an assigned area providing moderately complex (Level 2) operational support to the organization. Develop technical solutions for importing and ingesting Customer Data into Pega CDH on Pega Cloud. The Pega Engineer will be responsible for guiding the design, development, and provide support to the existing Navy Federal application(s) to support Pega Marketing systems capabilities. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions. Interacts with other functional teams or projects. Ensure department objectives are met in operational stability, efficiency, asset management, change control, performance management, metric development, security, and integrity of systems. Provide operational support input related to application analysis, code review, design, and programming functions. Works independently.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop data ingestion to Pega, ETL, data extraction and archival strategiesAssist in identifying and fixing bugs, troubleshooting, providing technical support during development and testing phasesDesign and develop/implement dataflows, datasets, data page, user interfaces, job schedulers and report definition in Pega using Cloud technologies (AWS, ADLS) and write SQL queries as requiredDesign and implement data models aligned with the application requirementsDevelop and optimize data flows in PegaImplement data quality checks, validation logic, and transformation rulesPerform root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring technical problemsCreate and maintain APIs between Pega and other services/applicationsCertified Pega Senior System Architect with experience developing solutions in Customer Decision Hub (CDH)Collaborate with business and system architects to support ingestion, decisioning and case managementCoordinate availability and performance monitoring activities and execution of scheduled maintenance activitiesCreate reports and dashboards using report definition rulesExperienced in programming languages (Java, etc.) and REST APIs (MuleSoft or similar) to process dataWrite test cases and perform extensive peer testingEnsure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policiesSupport testing in different environments, using different Pega's debugging toolsMaintain detailed and summarized documentation for implemented rules and solutions in all environmentsDevelop and maintain reusable Pega rules following best practices, guardrails, and coding standardsAssist DevOps or release management in packaging and deploying Pega applicationsProvide comprehensive day-to-day operational supportSupport and coordinate recovery operations in the event of operational failureDevelop custom systems integration solution components as dictated by business requirementsEnsure the security and integrity of solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practicesEnsure compliance with corporate Incident, Problem and Change Management Practices, standards and proceduresBuild and maintain effective relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.)Ensure clear, concise and effective communication of materialFlexible to on-call rotation needs, open to work in shifts including weekend coverage as per needsOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Systems/ Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experiencePega Certified Senior System ArchitectHands-on experience with Pega 8.x, Database (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, etc.); using dataflows, datasets, data page, user interface, job scheduler and report definition in Pega; Cloud technologies (AWS, ADLS); and writing SQL queriesKnowledge of the PRPC Architecture and PRPC design and implementationExperience with data ingestion (for different file types), extraction, retrieval, and processing within Pega applicationsGood understanding of SQLHands-on experience with services and connectors/APIsExperience in understanding existing data models and creating new data modelsKnowledge of Pega Application packaging, deployment, Pega DevOps, security, rulesets, portals, reports, and other Pega OOTB toolsDemonstrates change management and/or excellent communication skillsExperience training junior team members on Pega application and incidentsExperience with PDC and server monitoring and agents monitoringWorking knowledge of banking/financial industry standards and practicesDesired QualificationsExperience analyzing log files and reports from application sources5+ years supporting Pega applicationsPega Cloud experienceExperience on all Pega products including Deployment Manager and CDHExtensive debugging skills in PRPC using tracer, clipboard, and rules inspectorHours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PMLocation: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180 | 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 | 141 Security Drive, Winchester, VA 22602 | 9999 Willow Creek Road San Diego, CA 92131About UsNavy Federal provides much more than a job.
