*Youth Leader **Key Roles:*Plan, implement and supervise activities provided to participants such as Homework help, Social-Emotional Learning, Arts & Crafts, STEM, and Physical Education.Prepare youth for success by providing guidance and role modeling to participants, promoting and stimulating program participation.Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of participants, quality in programs, and appearance of the facility or classroom at all times.Support participants in making positive behavior choices and take appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary to give them the stability and nurturing atmosphere necessary for their success.Assist with fundraising activities as needed.Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facility and equipment.Communicate and work effectively with participants, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners.Attend and actively participate in all required staff development workshops, meetings, and trainings.Record and maintain daily attendance and other documentation as required.Follow organizational and School’s policies and procedures.Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.Mandatory mandated reporter training.Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.*Skills/ Knowledge:*High school diploma required.48+ college units required or AA Degree (Will require proof)Child Development Units preferred but not required. (Will require proof)Experience in working with youth.Experience with Zoom, Google Classroom, or other distance learning platforms.Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.*Physical Requirements/Work Environment:*This position is in a loud fast-paced environment, both indoors and outdoors. This position requires employee flexibility, patience, and the ability to problem-solve. Employee must be able to work the summer program hours of operation.This position is very active, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing for more than four hours each day, and other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.
