Laboratory Technician

Job Number: 35405Laboratory Technician Job Description:Our partner, a national provider of diagnostic testing, has an immediate need for Laboratory Technicians. This position will require performing tests and analysis in an entry level capacity according to established testing procedures within the designated technical department while gaining knowledge of department procedures and operations. This position is located in Burlington, NC and will work on a contract to hire basis. This will work on a 1st shift schedule.Responsibilities:Perform department specific test and specimen analysis Will wear appropriate personal protective equipment while working in a clinical settingModerate physical effort (up to 30 pounds); must comply with applicable safety proceduresAbility to shift priorities and work in a fast paced environmentInput and update computer databases Follow SOPs for specimen preparation, testing and analysis Contribute to team initiatives and cross training Education Requirements:Must have a BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology, including 16 credits in Chemistry and Biology as required by CLIADesired Background/Skills:1+ years of direct clinical lab experience is preferredQualifications:Experience working in a clinical and/or lab setting BS in related field (Biology, Chemistry or Medical Laboratory Technology) Familiarity with Lab protocol and equipment (ex: microscopes, centrifuge, pipettes etc)Ability to work in a hands on lab setting, including standing or sitting for prolonged periods Excellent computer skillsMust be comfortable working around clinical specimens including blood, urine, stool etc. Other Information:Greene Resources is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
