Learn more about how we build homes built on relationships by visiting .JOB SUMMARY: KB Home is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Permit Coordinator position. The Permit Coordinator is responsible for the application, tracking and obtaining of all permits required for new community start-up, as well as the building permitting on all houses sold. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive division starts and permitsAttend the daily starts meeting - furnishing information pertinent to start of constructionCheck requests for daily engineering received, inspections, etc.Daily posting of permits received, type and distributeDaily notification of permits going out, type and distribute via faxReview Daily Starts List and request taps and pay impact fees on homesPrepare all applications necessary for building permits, electrical service, water/wastewater service, and flood reviewSubmit starts for HOA approvalOrder lot/house stake outTroubleshoot issues that arise from the field employees in connection with municipalities and contractorsAssist with house files for the fieldAssist other departments with coordinators activities as neededOptions Module Structure:Submit Option requests to NAPA using approved templateCoordinate with CPA and review plans and what options need to be set upEnter the Options for all communities or new product offerings including appliances and flooring documents in AS400Ensure the correct Options are reflected accurately per plan and per community specificationsFor available Options, enter appropriate trade codes and all other necessary components that will be required to build out or provide the option per community and per planEnter/maintain all sales process for options in AS400, working towards a standardized common option sale pricing and maintaining the integrity of the Option Variable ContributionResearch and respond to questions for bidders regarding optionsRespond to calls/emails from production, sales, studio regarding options, starts, misc. questionsMaintenance of options descriptions and standardize option pricingLead/attend all model option walksLead/attend studio and sales kick off meetings in relation to all questions/concerns regarding optionsLiaison between Studio and PurchasingAttend Studio national callsComplete tasks required by national team regarding the roll out and implementation of EnvisionWork directly with purchasing agents to resolve any and all issues regarding new community set-up and existing community maintenance Management of Permits: Deliver applications with applicable payments to each individual municipality, both city and countyMaintain a written diary of all permits applied for and receivedEnter permit numbers into a spreadsheet divided by project; copy and distribute to construction project managersForward planning research with municipalities regarding upcoming projectsPermit and Re-inspection Payment: Maintain Dallas/Fort Worth Escrow Accounts.Troubleshoot discrepancies in check requests and double paymentsReconcile reclassifications with RACMaintain a record of fees paid for re-inspections - for use by field personnel to back charge subEDUCATION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education: High school diploma or GED Bachelor''s degree preferredExperience, Skills & Abilities: 2-3 years of administrative, coordination type work experiencePrior experience working with municipalities, a residential construction builder or contractor preferredOrganized, self-disciplined and drivenProactive and biased for actionFind out why KB Home is attracting and retaining the best employees!
