Job Description:The Chemicals team is expanding from three team members to four reflecting the expansion in coverage to nearly 35 stocks, representing all the major subsectors, including the Industrial gases (Linde and Air Products), Coatings (Sherwin Williams and PPG), Agriculture (Corteva, Archer Daniels, and fertilizer producers), petrochemical producers (Dow and Lyondell), specialty chemical producers including lithium (DuPont and Albemarle). There are also several potentially disruptive growth industries developing in Chemicals such as bacteria-sourced fertilizer and plastic.ResponsibilitiesPerform complex financial modeling & valuation workWrite regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratchDevelop databases integral to our research productDemonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgmentWork with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themesBuild relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companiesParticipate and contribute to client meetings and eventsAttend meetings and interact with key opinion leadersClosely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when travelingSeek out new, unusual sources of informationLeverage our robust network of industry contactsInteract regularly with clientsQualificationsA minimum of 3 years of experience, preference covering Chemicals sector at an investment bank or institutional investorPrior experience in investment banking and/or research (equity or credit, sell-side or buy-side) preferred.Must have strong modeling skillsMust be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
