Integrated Oncology, a division of Labcorp, has an immediate opening for a Cytogenetics Clinical Laboratory Director/Clinical Cytogeneticist in the Cytogenetics and FISH Laboratory department in Brentwood/Nashville, TN. The primary responsibilities include accurate reporting of patient results, case review, and reviewing training and competency records. The position will be responsible for the review of clinical laboratory data to provide an accurate interpretation of test results to the client. The Clinical Cytogeneticist will interact with employees at various levels and participate in process development, and work with the laboratory information systems, requisitions, worksheets, data and reports.The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with some weekend rotations.Responsibilities:Review, interpret, and report patient results reliably, accurately, and with integritySign out Cytogenetics reports on a daily basisProvide consultation to healthcare professionals and clients regarding test utilization and test interpretationOversee adherence to accepted technical procedures and policies and assist with troubleshooting technical problemsReview each assigned patient file for accuracy and interpretation of dataReview laboratory data, compose report, review and signoff reportCommunicate with referring physicians, clients, and sales and marketing representativesDesign and implement new tests as directed by senior leadershipPartner with supervisory team to provide effective process management of specimens through laboratory following approved SOPs and management techniques for assigned departmentFacilitate interdepartmental workflow through collaboration with operations, laboratory, sales and Medical DirectorsProvide oversight for QC, QA and QI as appropriateReview and sign off of training and competency records for assigned departmentRequirements:Ph.D. and/or MD is requiredABMGG board certified in Cytogenetics is requiredMust be qualified and have Tennessee State License - Medical Laboratory Director, Cytogenetics or be able to acquire a temporary License or full Licensure prior to starting positionAt least 1 year of experience in Cancer CytogeneticsExperience working in Molecular Genetics is a plus Excellent communication skills are required, both verbal and writtenLabcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:As an EOE/AA employer, the organization will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant''s race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status.For more information about how we collect and store your personal data, please see our Privacy Statement.
