Ophthalmic Technician Part Time Connected Health Care is looking for an Ophthalmic Technician for an opportunity at an amazing care facility in Wisconsin.Responsibility:Triage patients and record consistent and accurate documentation of patient''s medical historyObtain patients chief complaint and screen (e.g., visual acuity, confrontational visual fields, measure IOP, pupillary check, ocular motility, dilate pupils, check blood pressure, etc.)Communicate with team members, team leader, physician about patient care and efficiencyCommunicate with patients using a caring tone and provide thorough communication before and after their visit with the physician, providing education as neededPrep exam room and patient charts for physicianPerform macular OCT imagingMay perform other retinal imaging as neededPrep for and assist with in-office procedures as neededMay recruit patients for clinical trials as neededQualifications:Medical work experience NOT required, but it can increase your starting rateDemonstrated effectiveness showing courtesy, diligence, integrity, and teamworkStrong interpersonal skills (effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution, warm demeanor)Able to work long and irregular hours, including overtime, and travel to different locationsAbility to master multiple computer systems (data entry and data retrieval)Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminologyA reliable means of transportation between local clinics during the work day (mileage is reimbursed)Willingness to drive company vehicle on day tripsQualify as an Austin Retina DriverAustin Retina Associates approved drivers must:Be 21 years of age or olderPossess a valid Texas driver''s licenseHave a satisfactory MVR that reflects 3 years minimum driving experienceBe able to provide proof of valid personal auto coverage for primary vehicleAbility to view patient images and operate computer devicesAbility to converse with patients - speaking and hearingFrequent use of a computer terminal, keyboard, and mouseNear constant standing and walkingManual dexterity to operate ophthalmic equipmentKEY SUCCESS FACTORS:Able to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.Able to explain the procedure and put patients at ease.Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.Able to perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.Able to effectively administer first aid and use emergency cart.Able to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores and developing action plans when required.Able to take call, if required.QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION - CAAHEP-accredited OT programEXPERIENCE -Experience in a busy optometry, ophthalmology, and/or retina clinic COA, COT, or COMT certificationIf you are interested in hearing more about this great opportunity, please contact:Matthew Mcvey - Senior Executive Recruiter2100 Kramer Lane, Suite 750, Austin Texas 78758Email | [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]Direct | (512) 593-5448CHNOR
