The PMO team supports Logistics, Operations Engineering (OE), and Manufacturing by focusing on project execution and working cross-functionally. The group supports the entire product life cycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) into the factory/field and sustaining engineering after transfer from design to volume production through the product end of life. This group collaborates closely with the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and Global Technical Support (GTS) groups within Thermo Fisher Scientific to ensure development and continuous improvement of products according to the latest quality standards. The Project Manager will be directly involved with all aspects of projects including project creation, execution, and task ownership. The Project Manager leads and supports enterprise-wide projects. The Project Manager will have an opportunity to provide project management training/coaching throughout Operations. They will set the standard for project management excellence and support others as they gain experience.The Project Manager will:Facilitate and lead cross-functional NPI and sustaining Operations projects from inception to completion.Set standards for project scope, results, and timelines to ensure completion in time for NPI and sustaining project requirements.Prioritize/drive tasks and remove barriers.Calculate capacity requirements needed for project execution and provide input for resource plans.Maintain project status documentation for project reporting and coordinate timely project reviews with managementCoordinate completion (and in some cases performs the tasks) for Operations project resultsThrough proactive communication, maintain transparency and alignment of projects throughout Operations.Align project goals and expectations with customersSupport local and global Operations team in implementing strategies, including partnership with other Thermo Fisher Scientific sitesProvide project management training/coaching throughout OperationsBuild and provide data analysis structure using Business Intelligence (BI) tools throughout Operations.Work with IT to build BI reports and structure within OperationsOther duties as assignedEducationBachelors degree in a technical field is required or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.Experience5-10 years of project management experience in high-tech industry environment.Previous project management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.Certified Project Manager preferred. (PMP)Proven experience managing cross-site, cross-functional, and global projects.Experience developing and leading teams.Able to resolve issues by gaining agreement of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships.Ability to gain consensus and facilitate a collaborative environment even during demanding timelineStrong written and verbal presentation skillsProven track record of providing clear/concise data analysis, detailed problem solving, and basic experimental methods/test protocols.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our teammates extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
