To learn more, please see The Associate Product Manager (APM) is a member of the Global Academic Global Subscriptions Product Management (PM) team. This position helps define product and content strategy through research and partnership with cross-functional teams. Under the guidance of senior product management, the Associate Product Manager is provided opportunities to build their product management skills while playing a key role in the product management organization. We are curious and comfortable with change and are willing to take risks to transform education. + The Global Subscriptions team achieves financial targets by developing and managing the life cycle of subscription databases aimed at academic libraries around the world. What you''ll do here: The APM supports the development and execution of Gales Global Academic market strategy, with an initial focus on Gales Literature program; may support the Business and Periodical Product Managers in the future. Collectively with the Sr. Product Manager, the APM assists in leading a profitable product line and developing a strategic business plan that furthers Gales mission. As a key member of the Gale team, the APM serves as the voice of the expert on cross-functional teams and advocates for the needs of students and educators. Naturally curious and pragmatic, the APM challenges assumptions and team members and is driven by a desire to improve outcomes for all learners. In addition, you will: + Lead and communicate content strategy for Literature, undertaking relevant research to understand current strengths and weaknesses, seeking out and proposing sources for new content + Work closely with colleagues in other functional areas (Content, Production, Marketing, Sales, Technology) and serve as an advocate for educator and student needs in cross-team workgroups + Regularly solicit and analyze customer feedback, usage reporting and other sources of data to identify needs and solve problems + Translate strategy into organized end-to-end development plans with budgets, resources, performance goals, and key achievements + Assist in the analysis of market segments and help identify and define user needs and market priorities + Lead competitive analysis research with the aim of informing market positioning + Facilitate team meetings, focus groups, interviews, presentations, and training Skills you will need here: + BA/BS degree preferred + Curiosity and a willingness to learn, paired with a desire for continuous improvement + Familiarity with research best practices, including user research and data analysis + Effective communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated active listening, writing and verbal presentation skills + Excellent time and project management skills + Strong ability to organize complex information and data in a way that helps scale key points for a larger audience + Experience working directly with customers and end-users and an ability to empathize with user needs + Ability to translate customer needs and challenges into opportunities + Eager to learn, highly motivated and team oriented, self-disciplined and + A love for ideation, problem-solving and going beyond the immediate answer Cengage Group''s Higher Education business, Cengage, supports learning and student success by providing materials and digital solutions to faculty and students enrolled in two-year, four-year and vocational programs.
