Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute test methods to evaluate lithium-ion cells including electrical, mechanical, and electrochemical test. Write script, set up programs to run the test with different cell tests tools. Write SOP, drive the decision for battery material selection based on the test results, and communicate test result to different functional groups of cell engineers and scientists. Manage cell test facility planning, purchasing and utilization Design test fixture, improve testing capability and accuracy, and extract presentative and meaningful data. Utilize various CAD tools for designing test fixtures and tools with mechanical engineering. Procuring of test equipment, maintain test space and perform troubleshooting when necessary. Collaborate with battery data engineers to process and populate cell testing data to database. Qualifications: BS in an engineering discipline with minimum +5 years of relevant experience in lithium-ion battery cells or in energy storage cells. Have relevant background of mechanical design with various SW packages. Passionate about research and works in lithium-ion battery or energy cells. Problem solving skills, think outside of the box. Good communication and time management skills. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. Have experience in using battery cyclers, writing, and validating test scripts Ability to work autonomously. Good to have: Have good understanding of electrochemical processes in various energy cells. Experience of EIS, HPPC, PITT/GITT, and dV/dQ or dQ/dV. Experience in data analysis tools is a plus.
