Job description:Using the HR/Payroll system UKG, our payroll specialist perform a variety of payroll processing functions for select business units of Penguin Random House and Bertelsmann related companies in accordance with standard procedures.Main responsibilities:Responsible for payroll processing for select business units and backup payroll processingReview of HR generated workflows for payroll impactI nput/verify payroll data including garnishmentsReview employee tax data for jurisdiction accuracyReview timekeeping system data where applicableVerify expected payroll calculation resultsPrepare funding requests, update required spreadsheetsApply company policy and federal/state payroll related regulationsRespond to employee/HR questions regarding payroll and payroll tax informationRun/prepare payroll reports as neededProvide payroll data for audit as requestedPerform payroll accounting analysis as neededAssist with payroll implementation tasks as assignedMakes decisions regarding accuracy of workOrganizes workload by assigning input priorities to data receivedExercises discretion and confidentialityFurther tasks may be assigned within the frame of the profile.EducationField of studies / vocational training, degreeTraining required additionallyProfessional experience / competencies / traits2 to 4 years experience in Accounting, General Ledger and PayrollPrior Bookkeeping and Payroll Tax Analysis experience is desiredEffectively Multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast pace environment, producing qualityWork under pressure while meeting deadlinesPossess and exhibit the ability to think logically and analyze problems & dataPC proficiency to include Excel & WordPrior UKG (formerly Ultipro & Kronos) experience is a PlusEffective oral and written communication skillsFull-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.
