MCR/SPA has an immediate need for a Cost Estimator III located at Hanscom AFB, MA. CJ Responsibilities As a Cost Estimator III, you will provide cost estimation support within the Digital Directorate (formerly known as the Battle Management Directorate) located at Hanscom AFB, MA. Your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: m anage, oversee and/or lead or perform scientific work that involves the design, development and adaptation mathematical, statistical, econometric and other scientific methods and techniques; a nalyze management problems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems; u tilize routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology and extrapolation; a ssist in the development and analyze the cost and schedule risk-adjusted Life Cycle Cost Estimations (LCCEs), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), Business Case Analyses (BCAs), Analysis of Alternatives (A0As), program office estimates and other standard cost analyses; d evelop presentations and brief executive leadership on program cost positions, impact of budget changes on supported programs and other cost issues; p rovide financial management expertise in coordination with PEO/Division/Branch program financial analysts to identify issues, resolve issues and make sound and timely recommendations, u se cost estimating outputs to assess the impact that various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain and dispose of a particular weapon system; d etermine the appropriate phase of the budgetary cycle (planning, programming, justification, execution, etc.) for initiating new programs, a nalyze contractor financial data using EVM measures of merit to determine program viability with respect to cost and schedule performance; u tilize analytical processes such as: setting up the problem, conducting background research, collecting and reducing data, displaying data for analysis, formulating mathematical expressions, and drawing conclusions; d evelop, maintain and provide ongoing sustainment of a Directorate, Division, and Branch Cost Data Repository; d evelop life-cycle cost estimates to include Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production and Sustainment phases of programs. Includes program''s initial acquisition estimate, EMD and Production program phases; u tilize ACEIT Tool Suite to perform and execute all program office estimates. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * BA/BS degree and 7+ years of experience, DoD support experience preferred; years of experience may compensate for lack of degree * In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) * Strong oral and written communication skills * Detail-oriented and able to adapt quickly to work in a multi-disciplined environment * Possess analytical skills in order to identify and fault-isolate problems/issues; must be able to accurately assess the relevance of information and generated and evaluate alternatives and provide solution recommendations * Knowledge of DoD Directive 5000.1; DoD Instruction 5000.2; Air Force Instruction (AFI) 65-501 - Economic Analysis; AFI 65-502 - Inflation; AFI 65-503 - US Air Force Cost and Planning Factors; AFI 65-508 - Cost Analysis Guidance and Procedures; Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 65-506 - Economic Analysis; the AFLCMC Standard Cost Process and other DoD, Air Force, and lower level policy, publications, supplements, manuals, etc., as well as applicable documents and regulations, systems, processes and guides as required * ACEIT experience is required * An active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it is required
