We invite you to be a part of the UT Southwestern team where you''ll discover teamwork, professionalism, and consistent opportunities for growth.Job SummaryUT Southwestern has an opening for the position of Standardized Patient Educator, Simulation CenterThe Standardized Patient Educator will work closely in a collaborative relationship with SPs, faculty, learners, staff, and Simulation Center leadership in teaching, assessing and remediating clinical skills.Education/ExperienceHigh school and two (2) years of actor experience or standardized patient work required. Standardized patient training experience highly preferred..Job Duties:Supports the development, implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of operational elements of the simulation curriculum using standardized patient methodology.Recruits, interviews, and onboards, a diverse group of individuals to use as standardized patients in the teaching and assessment of clinical skills to learners.Trains and coaches standardized patients for purposes of assessment and training for instructional, formative and summative educational programs.Develops and teaches standardized patient constructive verbal and written feedback classes for all standardized patients for communication to learners.Supports, implements, enforces and maintains SP policies, procedures, guidelines that meet institutional goals and standards.Provides training to standardized patients to include but not limited to feedback training, best practices for SP Education, current training techniques, and quality control procedures.Coordinates, manages, and supervises teaching and assessment activities for learners that support integration into curriculum. Includes assisting in the designing of cases with faculty in format that is easy for standardized patient learning case materials, case checklists and strategies to ensure constructive communication to learners.Collaborates with department and faculty on the training materials for standardized patient activity related to simulation and standardized patient methodology.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWork requires familiarity with teaching and assessment methods and technologies involved in the Standardized Patient methodology.Work requires excellent communication, administration, and leadership skills.Work requires effective interpersonal, organizational and planning, team-building, and problem-solving skills.Work requires proficient with database management and creating report.Work requires experience in case design and development, implementation and assessment methodology.Work requires medical terminology and knowledge of basic non-invasive diagnostic equipment as well as a general understanding of basic physical examination.To learn more about the benefits UT Southwestern offers visit COVID-19 vaccine information, applicants should visit general COVID-19 information, applicants should visit
