LIFE ENRICHMENT THERAPISTUnder the direction of the Life Enrichment/Recreation Program Manager according to PACE SoutheastMichigan''s policies and procedures. The Life Enrichment Coordinator is a member of theInterdisciplinary Team (IDT) and participates in the clinical and social assessment of each participant.The Life Enrichment Coordinator assists in the development, planning, and implementation of all PACErecreational activities. Ensure all activities/programs are designed to meet the spiritual, intellectual,physical, social needs of all participants. The Life Enrichment Coordinator must be vibrant, creativethinker who leads by example and accepts nothing short of excellence providing the highest quality oflife to PACE participants.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinates the development of the monthly activities anizes, implement, and evaluate the daily activities/social engagement.Assess the participant''s preferences & interest, develop programs and opportunities that meaningful to the participants and enhance their sense of wellbeing (identity, growth, autonomy, and meaning).Ensure documentation is aligned with PACE protocols and LOCD.Assures that all scheduled LE programs are carried out according to the monthly calendar.Demonstrates the ability to plan and develop recreational groups to meet the participant needs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Minimum 3 years or more of experience working as a FT activity professional in a social or recreationalprogram. Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.Must be a licensed or registered Activity Professional recognized by an accrediting body such as TheNational Certification Council for Activity Professionals, The National Association of ActivityProfessionals Council (NCCAP and or NAPPCC) or a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Completion of state approved (180) hours of practicum supervision (MEPAP 1 & 2) required.Experience with frail/senior population is mandatory.Must be able to adapt and change as needed. Must be able to maintain work load in a high paceenvironment. Must have knowledge of writing care plans and completing a life/social historyassessment.Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting and moving 50 pounds, walking and standing for long periods of time.
