This role is primarily responsible for conducting jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels within the greater Washington DC area, adhering to various regulations including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors rules, The National Board Inspection Code, jurisdictional laws, and our proprietary programs. The Jurisdictional Consultant Boiler Inspector will develop the skills required to manage, inspect, evaluate, and consult with clients while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Upon gaining experience, candidates will be considered for Jurisdictional Consultant I or II roles based on their qualifications and performance. Education: Depending on an individual's experience and other factors, the inspector may hold a BS in Engineering, an associate degree from a 2-year technical school, or a high school diploma (or equivalent). Desired: An individual who already holds National Board and state certifications, qualified to review repairs in accordance with NBIC and FMIC requirements. Required: The position necessitates meeting National Board In-Service commission qualification requirements, acquiring a passing score on the National Board Exam, meeting State requirements, obtaining a National Board Commission, and certification from at least one jurisdiction within 12 months. Experience: Essential experience includes acquiring the initial National Board Inservice Commission (IS), understanding boiler and pressure vessel construction, operation, and inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment, management systems, and nondestructive methods. Skills/Knowledge: Strong overall technical knowledge in boiler and pressure vessel construction and inspection, good communication and listening skills, efficient time management and organization, problem-solving skills, basic computer application skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
