Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with experience in the development and configuration of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, cloud computing, and familiarity with DevOps practices, as well as experience in PLM. As a 3DEXPERIENCE Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and configuring the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to support Ford business processes focused on product design.Responsibilities3DEXPERIENCE L3 SupportProvide advanced, expert-level technical assistance for complex issues escalated from L1 and L2 support teams. Responsibilities include root cause analysis, resolving deep-seated hardware, software, or network problems, and collaborating with developers to implement solutions. Data Model ConfigurationUse the Customization and Specialization Administrator app to define new attributes, subtypes, and specialized objects. Business Rule ImplementationCreate and enforce company-specific rules for processes like content naming, revisioning, and lifecycle management. Automation and ScriptingDevelop scripts using languages like EKL (Engineering Knowledge Language) to automate design processes and enforce standards. IntegrationWork on integrating the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with other systems and CAD applications through APIs and other methods. Collaboration and SupportWork with cross-functional teams, including CAD designers and PLM administrators, and provide training and support to end-users. DocumentationCreate and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and test plans. Platform AdministrationManage platform behaviors and configurations, including access rules and security contexts. Performance OptimizationIdentify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and implement best practices to ensure that solutions meet performance requirements.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or in related field or equivalent work experience7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on microservices architecture, semantic technologies, PLM, and cloud computing5+ years of hands-on expertise with 3DEXPERIENCE tools and utilities like EKL, MQL, ENOVIA ADK, and REST-based web servicesExpertise in modern software engineering practices, including Agile development, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)Proficiency in software development utilizing the Atlassian suite of products, specifically Jira, and GitHub for version control and Git ActionsStrong knowledge of core 3DEXPERIENCE components such as 3DSpace, 3DPassport, and Engineering CentralExperience with CAD integrations and mapping properties between CAD systems and 3DEXPERIENCEExpertise with programming languages like Core Java, J2EE, and JavaScript is a mustExperience with data model concepts and architecture is essentialGood understanding of PLM principles and collaborative data managementYou may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
