This Level 1 unit will have an anticipated 600 deliveries a yearAn average daily census of about 5 newbornsNNPs will be responsible for daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries when requested and will take call from homePractitioners would also stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care- Opportunities to do supplemental PRN shifts at the level III NICU in Gastonia may be possible; but would not be required, as this position is for the Level 1 nursery.
