Available as a full-time or part-time role, this school-based position is ideal for compassionate professionals experienced in supporting students with mobility, personal care, and health needs. You'll provide daily assistance, collaborate with teachers and nurses, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment that supports student learning and development.Responsibilities as the School Health Aide: Mobility & Daily Assistance:Support students with movement, ambulation, and physical tasks throughout the school day. Feeding & Hygiene Care:Assist with meals, toileting, and personal hygiene in a respectful and professional manner. Health Monitoring & Response:Address health-related incidents and emergencies, documenting interventions as needed. Team Collaboration:Work closely with nurses, teachers, and staff to support student safety and care plans. Transportation & Accessibility:Accompany students during school transport or activities and assist with communication support when required.Qualifications for the School Health Aide: Education:High school diploma is required. Licensure:Must hold a permanent New York State Education Department license as a Health Aide with current registration. Certification:Completion of a state-approved Health Aide training program may also be accepted. Experience:Prior experience working with children or individuals with special health needs is strongly preferred.
