Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our hospital-based rehab team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will assist in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery in an acute care or inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities:Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising OT to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities. Assist patients with therapeutic activities targeting mobility, self-care, strength, coordination, and cognitive function. Observe and report on patients progress and responses to treatment, making recommendations to the OT for modifications when needed. Help educate patients and families on proper use of adaptive equipment and safe techniques for completing ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nurses, physical therapists, physicians, and case managers to support coordinated care and discharge planning. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Qualifications:Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current certification by the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy). Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant BLS (required).
