Oncology Nurse Practitioner

A healthcare facility in New Jersey is actively seeking a patient-oriented and dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing staff. In this role, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation; including history and physical for complex hematology / oncology adult patients in the outpatient setting.ResponsibilitiesThe Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP):Provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentationPerforms inpatient hospital rounding as per provided schedulePrescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalitiesOrders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's disease-specific needsMonitors the effectiveness of interventions prescribedFacilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare settingsProvides education to patients, families, and significant othersActs as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the publicCollaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referralsQualifications: Nurse Practitioner (NP) license for the state of New JerseyOncology experience and/or ONS/ONCC certificationYour privacy is important to us.
