Job Description

Distribution Process Worker Supervisor Exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, in accordance with general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher-level supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Assigns work to individual workers by verbal or written instructions. Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to assure work order requirements. Sets performance standards for subordinates and makes formal appraisals of their work performance. Counsels employees and discusses informal complaints and grievances with workers and union representatives. Initiates disciplinary actions as needed. Maintains work reports and records. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions. You may be required to work at the designated duty location, a telework site, or an alternate location/facility. Supervisory Probation: Required Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws. The ability to assist with planning and organizing work activities for employees. Examples Include: Advise supervisor of problems involving disciplinary actions and counseling on conduct. Set goals and deadlines for accomplishing work; give instructions to employees on work procedures and safety Physical Effort Work requires standing on hard surfaces maintaining balance for extended periods of time. Requires pushing, pulling and depressing various hand and foot controls which require bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting in tiring and uncomfortable positions, many times all at the same time. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds; may lift greater weights with assistance. Working Conditions Work is performed within a warehousing environment. Work is usually performed inside (outside when using a tug or fork lift to move items between warehouses) in areas that are hot, cold, drafty or damp. Conditions may be uncomfortable when operating the aisle hybrid mobile crane near the ceiling. May be exposed to dusty, dirty, or greasy conditions. Individual is regularly exposed to the possibility of electrical shock (AC or DC), cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, and broken bones from falls or falling items, collisions, shifting loads or overturning of vehicles. Working conditions are a normal part of the job and are considered in the evaluation of the position. Safety and Health Requirements: Employee is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the job and work area where assigned. Types of protective clothing and equipment include, but are not limited to, the following: safety eyeglasses, respirators, and steel-toed shoes and protective clothing such as gloves, mask, apron, and coveralls. Other types may be required as deemed necessary by authorized management officials.
