HHM Talent is assisting a client in Wilmington, NC search for a Controller. Our client is seeking a Controller to oversee all financial functions, manage a team of six, and serve as a strategic partner to the President. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique financial structure of trusts, reserves, insurance, and automotive related accounting.Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily accounting operations including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, taxes, and financial reporting Manage Finance, Insurance, Trust, and Reserve functions Set and adjust rates on contracts to ensure reserves are properly backed Ensure accurate, timely reconciliation of accounts and documentation Oversee a team of six accounting and administrative staff Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements Utilize Stone Eagle software and internal accounting tools for reporting and operational accuracy Qualifications Strong understanding of trusts, reserves, and financial controls Significant accounting experience required Automotive accounting experience highly preferred, but open to a very strong accountant Experience supervising or leading a team Proficiency with Stone Eagle software or willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial structures Benefits Medical insurance through BCBS after 90 days (employee-paid; dependents may be added) Company match on Guardian dental and vision 10 PTO days (no consecutive 2-week blocks; limited Fridays) 5 sick days (intended for actual illness) Disability coverage Company-paid employee parking No 401k currently Relocation assistance available
