Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and relevant legislation. Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, preparing accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP. Analyze financial data and provide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management, recommending performance benchmarks for departments and teams. Take ownership of the accounting system and related data, maintaining accuracy and reconciliation of sales and accounts payable to the general ledger. Play a key role in the implementation of a new online marketplace order management system and associated integrations. Prepare the company for external financial statement audits. Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, fostering a culture of learning and development. Manage employee career growth by coaching, mentoring, and providing effective performance feedback. Minimum Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive supervisory experience in public or private accounting. 3+ years of experience leading a team. CPA certification preferred. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Experience in a tech, e-commerce, or online marketplace business. Experience in an international business with foreign subsidiaries and different currencies. External financial statement audit experience, either in public accounting or at a business subject to an annual external audit. Ability to balance hands-on, operational accounting with forward-looking strategic financial decisions. Strong attention to detail, organization, and transparency. Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to develop and mentor others. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
