Provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring ECMO support in the ICU. Initiate, monitor, and manage ECMO circuits under the direction of physicians and perfusionists. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with interdisciplinary teams. Maintain and document accurate patient assessments, vital signs, and ECMO circuit data. Manage medications, titrate drips, and provide ventilator support as appropriate. Respond rapidly to emergency situations, including code events and ECMO circuit complications. Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times. Educate patients, families, and staff on ECMO processes and critical care interventions. Requirements Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large acute care or tertiary hospital. 1 year of ECMO experience required (VV and/or VA). Experience in a Level I Trauma or Cardiothoracic ICU setting preferred. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Licensure/Certification: Current California RN License (required, active and unencumbered). BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications (required). ECMO Specialist Certification (ELSO or equivalent) preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient with ECMO circuit management and troubleshooting. Strong background in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive drips. Familiar with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred). 28752524EXPTEMP
