Summary Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance adjustments of production and packaging equipment to ensure all equipment is operating at optimum efficiency with minimal scrap. High urgency, critical thinking, and strong mechanical aptitude are required for this position. ESSENTIAL JOB mary Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Performs timely mechanical checks on all assigned equipment to ensure proper adjustments are maintained. 2. Maintains established cycle settings on assigned machines to ensure production quality with minimal scrap. 3. Comply with all safety rules, policies, procedures and practices to include performing LOTO of production equipment when required. 4. Performs equipment evaluations at the start of the shift to ensure production flow is consistent throughout. 5. Diagnose and determine cause for machine malfunctions along with making troubleshooting adjustments to assigned machines. 6. Answer all buzzers and bells with the highest sense of urgency to ensure production is not interrupted. 7. Perform all assigned quality tests on baggers, packaged products, film, print, etc. to inspect for defects and malfunctions every hour. Must document findings on the inspector checklist. 8. Perform daily inspector checks to ensure the testers are rejecting defective products. 9. Responsible for all film roll changeovers and organization of film racks daily. 10. Responsible for informing the leadership team immediately of any failure to meet established quality standards to ensure that corrective action is taken. 11. Maintain a safe and clean work area and equipment at all times. 12. Assist packers with rework when time permits. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Team Supervisor or Department Manager. This includes utilizing all WinCup resources at your disposal to effectively handle production issues and support. Communication: Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, business writing, grammar and verbal communication skills. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills: Must be detail oriented, a team player and highly deadline driven. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED EXPEREINCE/SKILLS: Experience - High sense of urgency is required for this position. Must have a sound mechanical aptitude. Two years maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Skills - Basic computer skills. Must be ability to read, write and speak English. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Physical Demands (Manufacturing Plant): The characteristics listed below are representative of the physical demands required by an individual to successfully perform the essential duties of a position in our manufacturing plants. Note that office positions located within our Manufacturing Plants often require some plant floor presence throughout the day so that while these demands may not always apply, they should still be noted. • Team Member will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information. • Team Member will be required to observe and assess information in a fast paced environment. • Requires frequent use of a production, manufacturing equipment and/or machinery. • Will be required to frequently move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds which may require frequent bending, twisting and reaching motions. • Team Member may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time. • Team Member may be required to stand for long periods up to 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts. • Team Member may be required to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch. Working Conditions (Manufacturing Plant): The characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of a position in our manufacturing plants. Note that office positions located within our Manufacturing Plants often require some plant floor presence throughout the day so these work environment details may not always apply, they should still be noted. • Work space is one that contains moving mechanical parts. • Requires work in an indoor manufacturing environment that may be exposed to extreme heat that is not air conditioned. • Work environment contains loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis as well as occasional airborne particles. • Must wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards at all times. • Ability to work an 8+, 10+ or 12+ hour shifts as designated. • Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
