Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on areas such as communication, language, fluency, vocal quality, and swallowing disorders. Work in tandem with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to cultivate a unified approach to patient care. Provide valuable education to patients and their families to bolster progress outside the therapeutic environment. Support occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing continuity in the care process. Accurately document and maintain records compliant with required local, federal, and organizational directives. Engage in continuing education to keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field and foster collaboration with peers. Education Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet certified by ASHA. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preference for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
