Position Overview The Regional Controller serves as the lead accounting authority for designated regions and/or specific business units within Spotless Brands, responsible for directing and managing all accounting operations and financial reporting within their assigned scope. This role ensures accurate and compliant financial practices aligned with U.S. GAAP, while supporting the company's growth by building and developing a scalable regional accounting team. Operating as a key financial leader, the Regional Controller partners closely with both corporate finance and regional operations to implement consistent accounting policies, maintain strong internal controls, and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting. While the role collaborates with corporate leadership to align with enterprise-wide standards, the primary focus is on ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and operational support within their assigned territories or brands. Additionally, the Regional Controller contributes to broader company initiatives such as process standardization, audit readiness, and supporting SOX compliance efforts as applicable - ensuring that regional practices align with corporate objectives and future IPOI-readiness frameworks. Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)Accounting/Finance/Audit Oversee and ensure timely and accurate daily and monthly accounting activity Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process along with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and in accordance with lender and financial sponsor reporting requirements Coordinate with the operations team to provide management with financial information that's vital to the Brand's decision-making process Act as primary contact for annual audit with support from Corporate Controller/ Corporate Assistant Controller Perform financial analysis to explain variances in financial performance compared to budget targets and prior year results Management and Oversight Assess current operations offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes Gain a strong understanding and be a power user of ERP & Point of Sale systems Conduct final review of bi-weekly payroll Track and report on business performance metrics Manage Brand budget process with direction from Corporate Controller/ Corporate Assistant Controller Hire, train and manage skilled accounting staff at the region level Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls in partnership with Corporate Controller/ Corporate Assistant Controller Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance Other duties as required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, MBA or CPA strongly desired Minimum of 10 years of experience with managing general ledger, GAAP accounting, monthly close process, producing financial statements, cash management, budgeting, tax filings, and management of junior resources; mastery of GAAP standards and GAAP-compliant financial reporting Audit experience within a public accounting firm plus career progression of accounting positions within a company (i.e., Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, etc.) with increasing leadership responsibilities is strongly desired Experience with multi-unit retail and/or private equity-backed companies a plus Familiarity with Sage Intacct is a plus but not required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities This individual must be a senior leader who is a change agent and driver of innovation, willing to challenge the status quo from both an operational and team perspective Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across the business to ensure our systems and processes are running smoothly Strong attention to details and critical thinking skills Physical Requirements Extended periods of sitting Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls Must be able to talk and hear - in person, via computer (I.e., Teams meeting), and phone calls Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus The work environment is typical of an office setting; the noise level is usually quiet Frequent air and vehicle travel may be required up to 20% This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) in this position.
