Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 2 Work Location: Remote (Houston area) Assignment Duration: 6 months (Possibility to extend) Work Schedule: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday Work Arrangement: Remote Position Summary: Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval Purchase, receive and coordinate inventory Maintain and update inventory recap report Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation Maintain prescription logs Accurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policy Assist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenance Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Qualification & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office experience Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic or debilitating illnesses License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located; license required upon hire Education/Certification Required: HS diploma, Pharmacy Tech Certification Preferred:Licensure Required: TSBP Registration Preferred:Years of experience required Disqualifiers Best vs. average Performance indicators Must haves: at least 2-3 consistent years as a pharmacy Technician. Hospital retail, specialty pharmacy is preferred. No Gaps Nice to haves: Data Entry, 80 Calls daily experienceDisqualifiers: Candidates with Retail Experience only ` Performance indicators: Production Sheet (72 referrals per hour)Top 3 must-have hard skills Level of experience with each Stack-ranked by importance Candidate Review & Selection 1 Excellent Teamwork2 Multitasks very well3 Telephone Communication Skills/ computer savvy Customer service-based pharmacy technician so heavy phone experience.
