Purpose of Your PositionSubstitute in classroom for teacher absence or vacancy. Maintain library and participate in therapeutic feeding program. Participate in all activities related to ESCS.Job FunctionsPromotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change and Loving Relationships by bringing these values to life in the organization.Act as substitute in the classroom when vacancy or absence requiresDemonstrate knowledge of NYS Learning Standards through the development and implementation of lesson plans that address the individual goals of students and strengthen the continuity of learning experiences between home and schoolWrite accurate and timely evaluations, quarterly progress reports and draft IEP/ISFP documents in accordance with all regulationsCollaborate with classroom team to design lesson plans based on effective practices in child development and utilize current evidence based practices to monitor progress and ensure positive student outcomesActively participate in the creation and implementation of an individual and School wide Professional Development Plan that inspires personal growth, informs teaching practices and promotes understanding of the NYS Teaching StandardsCreate an organized classroom to ensure a safe and educationally challenging learning environment (delegate responsibilities to paraprofessional staff appropriately, maintain materials and equipment in good repair, utilize concepts of universal design in room arrangement, etc.)Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School AdministrationEducation Requirements:Master’s Degree in Special EducationPermanent / Professional New York State Certification in Special EducationTwo years experience with children with multiple disabilities in a special education or related setting.Salary Range:$71,514.60/Yr. To $89,245.49/Yr.
