We are currently recruiting to fill the following position: Job Description PRIDE Industries Job Description Job: Custodian Job Code: LAC-Custodian A3 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Approval Date: September 2021 SUPERVISES: There are no direct reports for this position. POSITION SUMMARY: Under close supervision the Custodian performs general custodial dutiesto include; cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming. Employees in this job class useproper materials and methods to assure areas are clean and free of safety hazards. TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture. 2. Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors. 3. Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers and cigarette urns. 4. Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures. 5. Refill restroom dispensers. 6. Assist with the setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. 7. Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. 8. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. 9. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. DenotesEssential Job Function MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: u2022Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals; general cleaning chemicals; u2022Ability to safely operate custodial equipment (vacuum, backpack vacuum, cardboard bailer); u2022Ability to communicate effectively; u2022Ability to follow instructions; u2022Computer literacy to use business software, the Internet, enter data/retrieve data; u2022Human relations skills to build effective working relationships. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Not Applicable CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may berequired depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physicaldemands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: u2022Maneuvering in and around the worksite u2022Standing and walking u2022Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping u2022Lifting boxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally u2022Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc. u2022May be required to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds u2022Grasping both small & large objects u2022Climbing ladders and/or step stools WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office environment, or at a customeru2019s location,such as a commissary environment, a federal courthouse, or a military base. Employees may beexposed to toxic chemicals, noise from equipment in maintenance environment, and depending onindoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to cold or heat.
