Job Description The Pharmacist Coordinator u2013 Compounding and Regulatory Compliance manages daily sterile and non-sterile compounding operations at a centralized pharmacy location that services the health system. The role ensures adherence to USP , , and standards, as well as FDA and Joint Commission requirements, by supporting safe, accurate, and compliant compounding practices. The Pharmacist Coordinator also monitors inventory levels based on utilization trends, oversees automation workflows, and provides regulatory compliance support related to both compounding and medication diversion monitoring. This position works closely with pharmacy operations, compliance, and quality teams to uphold high standards of safety and accountability. Qualifications + PharmD or Bacheloru2019s in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution. + Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing with the state board. + Experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding in a hospital or health system setting + Proficient in USP , , , FDA guidance, and Joint Commission requirements. + Experience with compounding-related audits, technology implementation, and regulatory inspections. + Board Certification in Sterile Compounding (BCSCP). + Completion of ASHP sterile compounding certification or equivalent. Responsibilities Compounding Oversight & Quality Assurance u2022 Supervise sterile and non-sterile compounding activities using automated systems. u2022 Coordinate sterility and stability testing with external laboratories; resolve discrepancies. u2022 Monitor and adjust par levels of compounded medications and ingredients based on system utilization trends to ensure availability and minimize waste u2022 Participate in facility certification, equipment validation, and environmental monitoring processes. u2022 Ensure documentation standards for batch records, cleaning logs, and environmental testing are met. u2022 Maintain aseptic technique competency; ensure compliance with USP standards in daily operations. Education & Staff Training u2022 Implement and maintain SOPs related to compounding, personnel qualification, and engineering controls. u2022 Provide initial and ongoing training for pharmacists and technicians involved in automated compounding. Diversion Monitoring & Risk Mitigation u2022 Support controlled substance monitoring, reconciliation, and investigation of discrepancies. u2022 Collaborate with compliance, security, and clinical leadership on diversion prevention initiatives. Technology & Process Improvement u2022 Implement and monitor compounding-related technologies (e.g., IV workflow systems, barcoding, gravimetric verification). u2022 Contribute to quality dashboards and data analysis to drive process improvements and ensure patient safety.
