ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:By following the Care Plan that has been completed by the Nursing Supervisor, the Home Health Aide provides assistance with the following:u2022 Maintain a healthy, safe environment. Providing nutritional and environmental support.u2022 Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client.u2022 Position the client when instructed to do so.u2022 Assist with certain treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor.u2022 Remind the client to take medications.u2022 Assist with payment of bills ONLY when authorized to do so and it is documented on the assignment sheet.u2022 Run errands when authorized to do so. Documentation on the Aide Charting Sheet daily.u2022 Report any important information or changes in the client's condition to the agency and/or the nursing supervisor when necessary.u2022 Use of medical supplies and equipment when appropriate.u2022 Emotional support and the development of a trusting relationship between the aide and the client.u2022 Encouragement of client independence.QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:u2022 Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.u2022 Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate.u2022 Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family and agency personnel.u2022 Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled.A HOME HEALTH AIDE MUST:u2022 Get along well with others.u2022 Be dependable and trustworthy.u2022 Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures.u2022 Maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations. Enjoy working with others.u2022 Be a good listener, exhibit empathy for the sick, disabled and elderly, and be sensitive to the feelings of others.u2022 Be neatly dressed and have good personal hygiene habits.u2022 Maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams.u2022 Wear an identification badge while working. FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES:u2022 Able to lift, turn and transfer clientsu2022 Able to lift up to 50 pounds.u2022 Must be able to stoop and bend.u2022 Visual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication.u2022 Able to verbalize so that the average person can understand.u2022 Provide direct care according to the established client plan of care.u2022 Carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction of the nursing supervisor. WORK ENVIRONMENT:u2022 Regular exposure to client elements and occasional stress. The hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
