The ideal candidate will design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions for Federal agencies, leveraging cloud platforms and cutting-edge data science methodologies.Duties and Responsibilities:AI Solution Design & Architecture: Define and implemententerprise-grade AI solution frameworks, applying best practices for scalability, adaptability, and integration into existing business systems.Data Engineering & Preprocessing: Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuringdata quality, consistency, and governancein line with industry standards.Prototyping & Model Development: Buildlightweight prototypesand full-scale models to validate feasibility and demonstrate business impact. Explore advanced AI/ML approaches, includingLLMs, generative AI, reinforcement learning, and predictive analytics.Model Deployment & MLOps: Deploy and manage models usingAWS SageMaker pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), andMLOps frameworks(MLflow, Airflow) for continuous delivery, monitoring, and lifecycle management.Integration of Advanced AI Platforms: LeverageAnthropic’s AI modelsand other cutting-edge LLMs to enable intelligent document analysis, conversational AI, and adaptive decision-support systems.Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Conduct experiments, evaluate performance metrics, and iterate to improve model accuracy, robustness, explainability, and efficiency.Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams, engage stakeholders to capture multi-dimensional requirements, and participate inAgile development processes(sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).Documentation & Governance: Maintain reproducible workflows, ensure compliance withindustry standards and best practices (e.g., FAIR data principles, model governance, and responsible AI), and document end-to-end pipelines.Education and Years of Experience:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field8+ year of overall experience3+ years of applied AI/ML engineering experience.Proven track record indesigning, deploying, and scaling AI/ML solutions in production AWS environments.Hands-on experience integratingAnthropic’s LLMs(Claude family) or comparable advanced AI platforms into enterprise workflows.Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:Strong proficiency inPythonand ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).Deep expertise withAWS AI/ML ecosystem(SageMaker, S3, Lambda, Redshift, Athena).Familiarity withMLOps tools(Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow, Spark).Experience withdatabases(SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) anddata pipeline frameworks.Familiarity withenterprise AI standardssuch asmodel governance, explainable AI (XAI), data privacy/security regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), and responsible AI principles.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability totranslate AI innovations into actionable business value.Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.Min Citizenship Status Required: GC/US CitizenPhysical Requirements: There are no physical requirementsfor this position.Location: Mclean, VA Hybrid (1-2 days in Office) Only Washington DC DMV area candidates.DMI is a diverse, prosperous, and rewarding place to work.
