Preferred location would be Northwest Chicago in or near Schaumburg Illionois, Cincinnati Ohio, or Dayton OhioJob Summary:Kennametal is seeking a Sr. Sales Engineer to support our partnerships with Machine Tool Builders to grow our metal cutting business in the Northcentral United States including focus in Chicago IL, Wisconsin and Minnesota. This technical sales role provides the ability to see opportunity in challenges and creates solutions that provide a positive impact for our machine tool customers. The candidate will need to possess the ability to gain the trust and respect of customers by not only establishing the relationship, but by listening to their challenges, solving technical issues, and following through on commitments in a timely manner. This is a field sales role that is based in a home-office. Required travel approximately 50% to meet customer and financial goal demands.To learn more about Kennametal MTI visit -Job Responsibilities:Establish relationships with new and existing Kennametal machine tool customers to provide solutionsManage and coordinate the execution of large customer projects with engineering and operations to exceed customer expectations.Meet sales revenue goals of growth and profitabilityPromote and implement both custom and standard Kennametal Metal Cutting solutions.Advocate for Kennametal to the customer, advocate for the customer to Kennametal.Collaborate across multiple business segmentsGrow focus products through initiative activitiesDevelop and maintain customer associated data to provide consultative partnership (CRM)Execute growth initiative projectsTravel approximately 50% - 75%Typical Education or Equivalent Work Experience:6+ years' experience in machining/metal cutting industryTechnical training in machining and programmingAssociates or Bachelors in Engineering or related field or equivalent level of industry experienceStrong technical understanding of metal cutting toolingPractical experience interpreting technical drawings and specificationsCAD/CAM experienceGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Working cross-functionally with customers, engineering, and manufacturing locationsSalary Range -$90,000 - $115,000 annually base salary plus bonus with target of 30% of base salary.BenefitsMedical/Dental/Vision benefit options401k with match up to 6%Company Vehicle to facilitate travel requirementsPTO including vacation days, scheduled holidays, floating holidaysEqual Opportunity EmployerEqual Opportunity Employer--minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity.
