OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP) - JailsLocationUS-OH-CincinnatiID2025-23982CategoryNursingPosition TypeEVERGREENOverviewNaphCare is hiring a Part-Time OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), to join our team of medical professionals in Cincinnati, OH, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Hamilton County Justice Center. This position will work 2 8-hour shifts per week.As a Correctional OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare to women, focusing on reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth, to the patients in residence. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.ResponsibilitiesThe Obstetrics-Gynecology Nurse Practitioner (OB-GYN NP) performs physical exams, diagnoses and treats conditions, offers family planning, and educates patients on health maintenance. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:Providing gynecological services including well woman care, annual Pap smears and pelvic exams, health education, STD screening and follow up contraceptive counseling and prenatal care and postpartum careDiagnosing and treating conditions like infections, menstrual problems, and menopause-related issuesPrescribing medications, patient counseling and supportCollaborating with healthcare teamsMaintaining accurate and detailed records of patient encountersFormulating a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plansEvaluating patients who have returned from off-site treatmentConducting roundsScheduling and performing laboratory and diagnostic proceduresQualificationsExperience / Requirements / QualificationsMust hold a current unrestricted license as an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner in OhioCurrent DEA registrationAn appropriate collaborative agreement with the on-site PhysicianPossess an active CPR certificationBe certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical SpecialtiesMust possess strong written communication and verbal skillsHave strong computer skillsIntegrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities:Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why Join NaphCare?NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
