This role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring that all estimates are aligned with company standards and client expectations. The Lead Estimator plays a crucial role in the bidding process, helping the company secure profitable projects while maintaining competitive pricing. District Overview Mass. Electric Construction Co. Location This position is located in Irvine, CA Responsibilities u2022 Implement and oversee district estimating program and activities including the development of policies and procedures. u2022 Assist district manager in the review of all estimates; arrange and coordinate second estimates, maintain past cost history and comparable details. u2022 Maintain training program for estimating staff, update and maintain lead estimator and sponsor manuals, and supervise district scheduling department. u2022 Maintain district standards for control budgets and develop project level staffing plan to ensure the project has adequate support after award. u2022 Coordinate with the business development department in the preparation of proposal documents. u2022 Ensure training of all new graduates is scheduled for engineers in estimating and Field Engineer duties. u2022 Provide estimating support for numerous projects, perform quantity takeoffs, and solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor or manufacturer material and subcontract pricing. u2022 Prepare recaps, pricing sheets, bid forms, and other proposal documents for in-house review and bid submittal. #LI-JT1 Qualifications u2022 5+ years of estimating experience u2022 Familiarity with power feeders, controls and signal systems for industrial applications. u2022 Experience in estimating industrial electrical installations, such as water/wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, and battery storage facilities. u2022 Strong work ethic and interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills u2022 Ability to work on a team as well as work independently with little or no supervision u2022 Experience with standard office computer software u2022 Experience with Accubid Anywhere and Bluebeam is preferred. u2022 Results-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities u2022 Ability to travel when necessary for pre-bid job walks and bid reviews u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering with an emphasis in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
