What You Will DoThe Strategic Assessment System Analysis (SASA) Office is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual for the position of Program Manager 3/4. This role is a key member of the SASA Office's Programmatic Project Management Team, which is responsible for integrating project management best practices and standardizing processes across the office's initiatives. The team collaborates closely with various programmatic and support organizations, as well as LANL program offices, serving as a central liaison to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives. The successful candidate will provide high-level business and operational support to SASA leadership and project teams, playing a vital role in ensuring programmatic milestones and deliverables are met. This position requires a motivated and professional individual who can work independently, navigate a dynamic and evolving environment, and effectively manage a diverse and sometimes loosely defined workload. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative and operational functions of the SASA Office. This role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating program policies, procedures, and standards; managing and monitoring program budgets; and providing guidance and support to staff and other departments. The Program Manager may also supervise personnel and perform other related duties as needed.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:Demonstrated working knowledge in program, line, or project management in operational work. This expertise includes defining and developing work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; reporting cost and schedule variances.Demonstrated experience in developing models, tools and metrics and conduct analyses to support project/program/portfolio planning and decision making process.Knowledge of Laboratory capabilities and data across broad sets of Laboratory assets including funding.Working knowledge of nuclear weapons, the nuclear security enterprise, and NNSA capabilities and programs that support the U.S. stockpile.Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communications through presentations, and reports.Experience in developing and nurturing effective customer and facility support integration relationships within the Laboratory, and communicating with senior management.Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a program, or project and provide direction to a project management team. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI Clearance. Additional Job Requirements for Program Manager 4: In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires: Expert knowledge of Laboratory capabilities and data across broad sets of Laboratory assets including funding. Expert knowledge of nuclear weapons, the nuclear security enterprise, and NNSA capabilities and programs that support the U.S. stockpile. Consultative experience in developing and nurturing effective customer and facility support integrating relationships within the Laboratory, and communicating with senior management. Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related program management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related program management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level an advanced degree may be expected.Desired Qualifications:Active DOE Q clearance and SCI Clearance Experience with Weapons and Global Security Directorate programmatic work. Work Environment:Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
