25-26 - Library Clerk at Nizhoni Elementary School Join to apply for the 25-26 - Library Clerk at Nizhoni Elementary School role at CENTRAL CONSOLIDATED SCHOOLS. Summary Manages, coordinates and supervises library operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop appropriate resources for the age, interest and needs of the students. Select print and non-print resources. Plan and implement a program of user guidance and a sequential program of library skills instruction in conjunction with teachers and administrators. Organize and manage the library media center in accordance with established written policies and procedures. Promote the effective use of the library media center. Maintain and inventory library materials as required. Locate and obtain books from other district libraries as needed. Manage the library budget, process purchase orders and maintain library financial records. Assist staff in finding and selecting appropriate materials to support the curriculum. Provide reference assistance, book selection and reading guidance for students. Oversee the internet library use. Develop checkout procedures for the circulation and loan of materials to ensure availability of resources for students, faculty and staff. Develop and maintain library rules. Plan and set goals and objectives for the future of the library. Maintain the general appearance of the library with book displays, exhibits, bulletin boards, and seasonal decorations. Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines and local, state and federal laws. Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure. Support and comply with grant, program and/or funding source requirements. Complete and comply with all required trainings annually. Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8). Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position. Minimum Qualifications 18 years of age. High School Diploma. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Dinè language, culture and history preferred. Knowledge of the Dewey decimal system. Keyboarding. Computer skills. Physical/Job Requirements Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills. Safety and Health Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions. Completed and cleared background check. Pass drug test if required for position. Knowledge and compliance with district and school Safety Plans. Equipment/Material Handled Multimedia equipment, including current technology. Materials relevant to job responsibilities. Motor vehicle if necessary and current driver’s license. Current defensive driving certificate. Copier, Laminator, Overhead projector, TV, VCR, DVD, PHD II, Satellite Television Receiver. Motor vehicle, if necessary - valid driver’s license. Work Environment Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality. Work interruptions. Flexibility. Must be self‑motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. Must complete applications and assignments within the timeframes allowed. Extended work hours, on occasion.
