Psychologist - SRTP (Sexual Offender Treatment Program) | 1099 Contractor Role Description: We are seeking a Psychologist to deliver specialized treatment and assessments for individuals in the Sexual Offender Treatment Program (SRTP). This role involves performing sex-offense specific assessments, providing cognitive-behavioral treatment, psycho-education, and other interventions to individuals and groups, and documenting progress in accordance with established standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct sex-offense specific assessments, focusing on deviant sexual arousal, treatment progress, and risk of re-offending. Provide cognitive-behavioral treatment, psycho-education, and other therapies to individuals and groups, following established performance standards. Document service delivery and resident progress on a weekly basis in line with established standards and timeframes. Serve as the primary therapist for assigned residents, overseeing their treatment plans and interventions. Review and integrate sex-offense specific assessment information, developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans. Coordinate referrals to appropriate treatment groups, psychiatric services, and other specialized care as needed. Meet weekly with assigned residents to assess treatment progress, adjust plans, and monitor ongoing treatment needs. Conduct tests and assessments, including the Penile Plethysmograph (PPG), ABEL screening, STABLE, Static 99, and Affinity, within the scope of licensure and training. Provide training and consultation to Therapeutic Activity Aides and other staff on clinical methods related to the sexual offender population. Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and staff development activities. Provide clinical support and backup to other staff, including state hospital clinical staffing. Perform administrative duties, including documentation, correspondence, and coordination with other clinical and facility staff. Monitor and document inappropriate or dangerous behavior that jeopardizes safety or presents poor role modeling. Collaborate with county mental health systems to enhance their capacity to manage and treat individuals with sex offending behaviors within the community. Develop and implement discharge planning and aftercare protocols for individuals discharged from SRTP, working with the PA county court system and Juvenile Court Judges Commission to create judicial guidelines for conditional release. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized aftercare plans for residents nearing discharge, and provide ongoing support for county mental health systems managing discharged clients. Ability to assess and revise treatment goals, write individualized treatment and discharge plans, and provide instructions on therapeutic and behavioral interventions. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of sex offender treatment, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team. This position requires the ability to maintain professional boundaries and build rapport with residents while ensuring high-quality treatment and support in a complex clinical environment.Minimum Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology. Licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania as a Psychologist. Clinical membership in ATSA (Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers) preferred. Prior clinical experience working with sexual offenders and a solid understanding of the dynamics of sexual deviance. Familiarity with sex offense risk assessment, recidivism measurement, and treatment of deviant arousal patterns. Knowledge of relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures, and methods, particularly those designed for sexual offenders.
