The Gymnastics Inclusion Coach is responsible to help facilitate, promote, and implement inclusion of participants into programs. The Coach will lead others into the commitment of building an inclusive community.For information on Y Employee Perks, click on this link:Employee Benefits | YMCA of San Diego County (ymcasd.org)ScheduleLocation: McGrath Family YMCAAvailable Shift Times:Monday - Friday afternoonsSaturday morningsEnsure safety and well-being of participantsHelp facilitate inclusion of participant into a gymnastics classWork individually with a participant with special needsProvide continual supervision and comfort to participants and serve as a leader and positive role modelFacilitate activities, academic enrichment, games, crafts and other program activitiesCreate an age-appropriate learning environment, which allows for and fosters creativity and individualityCommunicate with parents regarding participant progress and behaviorsPrepare creative and fun lesson plans and session outlines prior to each classEncourage positive social skills and appropriate behaviorEnsure safety and well-being of participantsShow enthusiasm, leadership, fairness, and fun through coaching styleKnowledge of PC application softwareAbility to interpret, document and communicate support related issuesExcellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing skillsAbility to be flexible and work on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to motivate and train staff and volunteersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to persuasively present the mission and goals of the YMCA of San Diego CountyOther duties as assignedHigh school diploma or GED required3+ years’ experience working with children with special needs1+ year's advanced experience working with participants with special needs/social-emotional/behavior support needs for ages 0-12 years old Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notificationsCPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:American Red CrossAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Safety & Health InstituteYMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
