Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Job Description As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will collaborate with the EH&S manager to inspect and evaluate equipment and processes across a large campus. Your role will ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards, while recommending changes to protect workers. You will also be responsible for educating employees on health problem prevention through safety training and written programs. Responsibilities + Investigate accidents to identify their causes and devise strategies for future prevention. + Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and implement safety programs including lockout/tag out, crane, respirators, confined space, forklift, and PPE. + Inspect facilities through safety audits to detect existing or potential incident and health hazards, and determine corrective or preventive measures, ensuring their implementation. + Assist with annual department goals. + Plan and implement training programs for supervisors and employees to meet safety standards and enhance the company safety culture. + Prepare PowerPoint training presentations. + Assist with new employee safety orientation program and safety training for employees. + Provide leadership and interface with all facility colleagues. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) practices. + OSHA 30 certification. + Experience with safety programs, training, audits, and procedures. + Knowledge of hazardous waste management and reporting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree and/or OSHA certification. + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. + Specific knowledge in Health and Safety regulations, both state and federal. + Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. + Experience in a fast-paced environment. + Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. + Ability to work well within a team. Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing facility where you will regularly walk the campus. The team consists of 10 members who closely collaborate and support one another. Team members receive cross-training and there is a business casual dress code. Working hours begin at 6 or 7 AM.
