The Madisonoffice ofSmithGroupis looking for aMission Critical Mechanical Engineerto joinour team. Working with us, you will: Perform analysis, design anddocumentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC)systems and controls. Experience in both air-and water-cooled racksdesired. Load Calculations with CFD experience a plus. Peform systemassessments and prepare technical reports. Review submittals, RFIs andcontractor proposed change orders, and conduct site observations.Coordinate the work of mechanical designers and junior staff assigned tothe project. Assist with construction site visits as required forobservation, answering contractor questions, or representing the ownerin preparing punch lists. Create and develop planning and designconcepts for projects. Prepare presentation drawings and otherwiseassists in presentations both internally and externally. Mentor andtrain junior staff. An ideal candidate has: A bachelor's degree inMechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent. Minimum5 years of related technical design and consulting engineeringexperience designing HVAC, plumbing, and special systems for new andrenovated Data Centers. Additional experience in government, highereducation, or research facilities a plus. LEED AP preferred,Engineer-in-Training certification required. Eligible to take Part II ofthe licensing exam.
