VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTDirector of TransitSalary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 DOQThe historic and vibrant City of Fredericksburg is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as the next Director of Transit. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a thriving community and be part of a knowledgeable and amazing work team committed to excellence.Position Overview:Responsible for managing all aspects of a 30-bus, 16-fixed-route/route deviation service.Oversee transit operations and services in the City and the surrounding counties of Spotsylvania and Stafford.Manage approximately 70 full- and part-time drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.Oversee an annual operating budget of approximately $8,000,000.Report to the Deputy City Manager while maintaining full authority over all operations.Key Responsibilities:Manage system safety and security.Plan, program, and budget for current and future services.Plan for and procure necessary facilities and equipment.Apply for and manage Federal and State grants.Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline municate with City Council, County Boards, and the public.Develop policies and procedures.Manage the organization of full-time and part-time employees.Qualifications:Minimum Bachelors Degree.Eight (8) to ten (10) years of senior executive transit/transportation experience.Experience in financial/budgeting, media relations, government affairs/liaison, and supervision.Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered.Additional Information:The Director is a member of the City Managers Executive Leadership Team.Expected to advance the Citys “One Team for a Great Community?? motto.Offers excellent salary and a generous benefit package.More information about FXBGO! can be viewed on the FXBGO!s website.Application Process:Submit completed City Applications and resumes by the close of business on Friday, December 5, e be part of a knowledgeable and amazing work team committed to excellence in serving a thriving and growing community and the commitment to
