OverviewThe Piledriver General Foreman oversees and coordinates pile-driving operations on construction sites. The role ensures that all activities related to the installation of foundation piles are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. The Piledriver General Foreman oversees crews, manages equipment, and liaises with other site personnel to maintain productivity and quality standards. Responsibilities*The following are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.Supervise and direct pile-driving crews in the installation of steel, concrete, or timber pilesInterpret blueprints and specifications to determine pile-driving requirementsEnsure proper alignment, depth, and positioning of piles using appropriate equipment and techniquesMonitor ground conditions and adjust methods as needed for safety and effectivenessOversee the operation and maintenance of pile-driving equipment (e.g., diesel hammers, vibratory hammers, and hydraulic rigs)Coordinate delivery and storage of materials and toolsEnforce safety protocols and conduct daily safety briefings/toolbox talksTrain and mentor workers in pile-driving techniques and equipment operationEvaluate crew performance and provide feedback to improve productivitySchedule and manage contract equipment and operators as needed.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other Foreman to align work with overall project goalsTrack progress and prepare reports on pile installation, equipment usage, and crew performanceResolve conflicts and communicate issues or delays to management promptlyQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent; technical or associate degree in construction or engineering preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in pile-driving operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory roleStrong knowledge of pile-driving equipment and techniquesExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPhysicalMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions Will need to perform sedentary to heavy workWill operate office equipment of all typesClimb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffoldsRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basisPosition may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing and liftingMust be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevatorMust be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focusAbility to drive cars/trucks as neededMentalMust have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision and field workersTalking, reading, and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policyAbility to use math/complete calculationsWork at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractionsDecision-making skills necessaryDetail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe detailsRequires strong leadership and motivational skills
