Senior Manager of Accounting

Description We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Accounting to lead and oversee financial operations in Pacific Grove, California. This role is essential for managing the general ledger while supporting additional accounting functions to ensure consistent and reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative approach to drive improvements and uphold high standards within the organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Supervise the general ledger and contribute to the monthly financial close process through journal entry preparation and account reconciliation. u2022 Review and validate the work performed by accounting team members to ensure accuracy and compliance. u2022 Play a key role in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts at both department and organizational levels. u2022 Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate interim and annual audits efficiently. u2022 Establish, maintain, and enforce financial controls that safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting. u2022 Lead special projects focused on departmental enhancements, process updates, financial analysis, and policy adjustments. u2022 Ensure the organization adheres to financial regulations and internal policies to maintain compliance. u2022 Provide leadership and guidance to foster a collaborative and high-performing accounting team. Moore Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. u2022 3+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar role, preferably within a public company. u2022 Strong technical accounting knowledge, including familiarity with GAAP and current financial standards. u2022 Proven experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools, as well as implementing procedures. u2022 Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to collaborate across departments. u2022 Practical understanding of operational accounting and financial management. u2022 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. u2022 Prior experience in the hotel or resort industry is highly desirable.
