This role will be a resource to the firm’s customers as well as our team of tax professionals in the areas of corporate, partnership, and international taxation. This role will grow and develop into a subject matter expert for the firm, serving as a go-to resource and consulting on complex tax matters. This role also provides the opportunity to be at the forefront of tax policy evolution and practice growth with your commitment to follow, communicate, and identify planning opportunities resulting from legislative developments. You will have access to multiple, premier research technologies that will provide for professional growth and career development. You will have direct customer experiences, as well as exposure to firm leaders across the firm. A variety of interesting issues and tasks you will perform include, but are not limited to, conducting research, drafting customer memorandums, supporting internal and external legislative updates, speaking engagements, and industry specific initiatives.#LI-LD1 WHAT WILL YOU DO Research, interpret, and apply US federal income tax law relating to the following: Subchapter C, Subchapter S, Subchapter K, tax structuring and reorganizations, complex debt issues, transaction consulting, consolidated group reporting, and tax policy, among other tax matters. Identify and address customer needs, as well as provide ongoing support to the firm’s tax professionals. Provide planning opportunities and solutions to complex tax issues. Write technical memorandums in support of customers’ needs or requests. Draft internal and external tax alerts on timely tax topics, developments in tax policy, and/or relevant refreshers on important filing requirements and issues impacting customers and tax practitioners. Provide advice and support for and lead efforts in tax controversy engagements for customers and tax practitioners. Maintain the personal and professional motivation to develop own knowledge and become a trusted advisor for customers and colleagues. Uphold the firm’s mission, vision, and values. WHAT WILL YOU NEED CPA or JD/LLM in Taxation. Preferably, advanced course work in federal tax—including Subchapter C, Subchapter K, and International taxation. Experience with tax technical research and analyzing tax matters. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving ability. Strong, effective time and project management skills. Outside-the-box thinker with a positive outlook on the future of taxation. An interest in identifying and pursuing opportunities for practice growth in the course of providing benefits and solutions to our customers and prospects.
